The SPA is an association for small practitioners in public practice

Members of this organisation are individuals holding a warrant under the Accountancy Profession Act. SPA has been successfully fighting the corner of the small practitioner for over 7 years. Much has been achieved and there is no slowing down in our campaigns or vigilance of our practicing environment.

We have been active in the major accountancy circles in Malta. We are trying to keep the small practitioner informed and up to date with evolving legislation. SPA continues to make independent representation and responds to current issues at National level.

The objectives of this association are:

  • • Listen to, canvass and focus the views of Members, and communicate these effectively to the authorities and governing bodies.
  • • Determine the needs of Members, and identify or develop group services at economic costs to meet those needs.
  • • Develop and improve the public image of Members to potential clients, the media and other opinion makers.
  • • Contribute to the debate concerning the existing and future environment within which Members work or are monitored.
  • • Promote the development of personal links between Members to improvemutual support and sharing of experiences.
  • • Develop relationships with other Associations or Groups having mutual interests.
  • Who is SPA:

  • • Formed in early 2002
  • • A wholly independent association of professionally qualified accountants in small practices
  • • Currently representing over 80 principals with some 150 dependents and staff
  • • Our members provide a high quality, personal and professional service at economic cost
  • • Members are committed to an on-going programme of technical development
  • • All members must carry appropriate indemnity insurance, and be VAT registered
